The production of these came about when I was left with a number of slim slices of timber that I needed to find a function for and didn’t want to throw away. At the same time, our pup at home had managed to find and chew through our last few wooden spoons and my husband had suggested I make a few more. Well, I was hardly going to spend hours on shaping a beautiful spoon to only have it chewed up in a matter of minutes so I decided on a compromise – the stirrer. So far no losses and it’s been a surprisingly useful addition to our kitchen – I’ll make another spoon once I know it isn’t going to be chewed up!
