Where do you sell your products?

We currently attend markets where our products are sold. For information on which markets we will be attending next, please see our Home Page.

Do you have a retail outlet?

No, we do not currently have a retail outlet. If you are a retailer who is interested in on-selling our product, please Contact us.

Materials & Construction

Do you make all your own items?

Yes, all our items are designed and handmade in our workshop.

Do you make custom-made items?

Yes, we do at times make custom-made items, but this depends on the item and time available. Our payment policy for all custom-made items is a 50%, non-refundable deposit, on acceptance of quote. Please Contact us to discuss your request.

Do you do repairs / alterations?

No, we do not do repairs / alterations to goods that have not been made by Houtkapper.

Where do you source your raw materials from?

Our materials are sourced as locally as possible. Our primary raw material, timber, may come from a variety of sources namely; trees / branches in properties that are being cut down in our local neighbourhood, from local woodworking groups, from our local timber mill (AFS Chain of Custody Certified), from our own property where trees have required pruning or cutting back for fire breaks or from timber items that we have recycled. We try to source all our other material or products as locally as possible and where unavailable, from manufacturers / suppliers within Australia.

Are your products eco-friendly?

Yes, the oils and finishes we use on our products are all eco-friendly. Finishes used on food related items are also food safe.

Returns & Ordering

What is your returns policy?
I gladly accept returns and exchanges
Contact me within: 3 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 7 days of delivery
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Custom made or personalised orders
Intimate items – Accessories (for health/hygiene reasons)
Items on sale
Conditions of return
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
How do I make a return?
Contact me within: 3 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 7 days of delivery
Cancellation of an order
If you have made a custom-made order and would like to cancel it please Contact us immediately. Although your deposit of 50% is non-refundable, if no expense has yet been incurred on your order, we may be able to provide you with a refund.

Care & Maintenance

How do I care for my item?
This will depend on the item and its’ use. Most timber products will deteriorate if left outside daily in the sun and the rain. It is best to keep your product out of direct sunlight and water. Items used in cooking should be washed by hand with a mild detergent, rinsed well and put on a drying rack to dry – not washed in a dishwasher or left soaking in water.
Can I oil my timber item?

This will depend on the item and the finish that the item already has had applied to it. Please Contact us if you have a question in this regard.
